~World War I~

Two of my dad's uncles fought during World War I.
Charlie and Esmon Gregory, sons of William and
Margy (Roberts) Gregory
were born in Wayne Co, KY near
Coopersville. Charlie the oldest was stationed at Ft. Wadsworth, NY
where he died during a flu epidemic. Esmon was stationed at
Ft. Ethan Allen, VT making Corporal after 3 short months.
Esmon also died as a young man. Neither man ever married.
They are buried next to each other in the Kidd/Bell Cemetery.

Thanks to the persistence of their niece Olive Gregory Foster,
both men recently received their military headstones.
