These are photos of Sid Gregory's children that I've had the good fortune to locate thus far. This first grouping are of the family he had with my grt-grt-grandmother Sophronia (Bell) Gregory. Continue on to second family.

| William Howard Gregory |
#1 William Howard "Will" Gregory (1861-1927), my great-grandfather. He married Mary Margaret Roberts in 1879 daughter of Enoch and Elizabeth Roberts. Their children: Jefferson, Charles, Laura (Gregory) Gregory, Esmon, Bryan, Lena Gregory, Rona (Gregory) Dobbs. Will and Marg are buried in the Carl Kidd Cemetery in Wayne County, KY where many of my Roberts ancestors are also buried. More....... |
| Clayborn Gregory |
#2 Clayborn Gregory (1862-1888) married Manerva Jane Burk in 1882. I suspect that his wife Manerva Jane was the daughter of Rebecca Anderson and Richard Burk as several of Clayborn's siblings married into that same Burk family. Very little known about this son of Sidney and Sophronia, nor his wife. No known children. Probably buried in the Grant Roberts Cemetery in unmarked grave. |
![]() John Fulton Gregory with Laura and Nettie |
#3 John Fulton Gregory (1863-1945) married Genettie "Nettie" Roberts, about 1889. She was the daughter of Susan A. Clark and Andrew Jackson Roberts. I think they may have lived in the area of Oil Valley in Wayne County, KY. Their children: Molly Gregory, William Hayes, John Carlisle, Laura Etta (Gregory) Barrier, Bessie (Gregory) Hucaby, Della (Gregory) Crabtree. This couple is buried in Elk Spring Cemetery, Monticello, KY. |
| Mary Elizabeth Gregory Burk |
#4 Mary Elizabeth Gregory Burk (1868-1948) married William "Bud" Burk in 1886, son of Rebecca Anderson and Benjamin Burk. Their children: John Ephriam, Savannah (Burk) Anderson, James Millard, Lula J. (Burk) Slavens, Eva (Burk) Bybee. Both are buried in Whitley City, McCreary County, KY. More........ |
![]() Laurence Tranquilla Gregory |
#5 Laurence Tranquilla "Trannie" Gregory (1870-1919) married James Riley "JR" Gregory son of Angelina Jane Alcorn and Hiram Gregory. Their children: Charlie H., Fronia Jane (Gregory) Bell, Hilary S., Clinton, Camly (Gregory) Anderson, Cansada (Gregory) Bell, James, Scott, Elmer Clyde, & Granville. After Trannie's death, JR Gregory married Dora Spradlin. All three are buried in the family cemetery on the old JR Gregory home place. More.....

#6 Sidney Gregory (1873-1931), called "Little Sid", married Emily Spradlin daughter of James and Rebecca Spradlin in 1893. Lived in the Rocky Branch area of Wayne County, KY. ![]() Lucky & Artie Mince Burk |
#7 Artie Mince Gregory (1876-190x) married James "Lucky" Burk, son of Rebecca Anderson and Richard Burk in 1897. They lived in the area that some call Kidd's Crossing. Their children: James, Lucian, Nellie (Burk) Foster, and Hobart. Artie Mince and Lucky are buried in the Burk family cemetery.

![]() Matthew & Jennie Gregory |
#8 Matthew Thomas Gregory (1879-1932) married Jennie Trammel from Stearns, KY. Their children: Maude (Gregory) Estes, Robert, & Dorothy (Gregory) Riddle. I don't know a lot about this family. They eventually moved to Benton County, Indiana where they farmed. After Matthew died Jennie ran a small restaurant in Lafayette, IN. Both are buried at the town cemetery in Fowler, IN. |
| Sophronia Jane Gregory |
#9 Sophronia Jane Gregory (1882-1923) was the youngest child. Her mother died a few weeks after giving birth to her. "Jane" married first to Fate Foster in 1898 and second to Charles Vaughn. The 1910 census lists her seperated from her first husband, but reads "married 10 years, mother of 5". I have never located any of these children and can only assume they died in infancy. Jane married Charlie Vaughn in 1920. They had one daughter, Gussie Belle (Vaughn) Gregory before Jane died in 1923. Not sure where Jane is buried...possibly Bud Gregory family cemetery or Grant Roberts Cemetery.
